Falmouth Beach Getaway

I went on a group family vacation to visit my to-be in-laws in Falmouth and meet my sister's new family. Our party was 6 Adults and an infant made up of two married couples (one with their kid) and two brothers. With four dedicated bedrooms and 3 full (and one half) bathrooms, this house was absolutely perfect to house so many people!

This is definitely an older house that has been recently renovated with a very fresh look. It has a spacious kitchen/dining area, a beautiful stone patio with a beautifully maintained grass lawn, two living-room type areas, and a small office with additional couches and board games. Even with so many people in this house it was as easy to fit everyone together for meals and to hang out as it was to find privacy and get away from the noise. With 6 beds and numerous couches, this unit is perfect for a large and/or multi-family getaway or for a big group of friends to take a trip to the Cape!

There is also a basement that is probably a little more dated than the rest of the house, but it has a clean washer-dryer area as well as a pool table. It even has a bar area down there!

They provided a pass to a private beach that was maybe a mile walk from the house. It took a little exploring to get there, but it is a very nice beach and quiet since it's closed to the general public! The beach association has some strict rules on large umbrellas and beach carts (which the unit provides) so just read up on the rules - it's not like the rental has control over this anyway.

This place has several air conditioning units in the lower level, plus window units in each of the upstairs bedrooms. This house can get quite hot, but those units did WORK to keep the place cool and comfortable during hot days with so many people inside. It also vents well with plenty of windows and doors to open if you prefer fresh air. On humid days the older wood smell can come through a little bit - it's not unpleasant but if you prefer zero scent then I recommend running the AC and it's no problem at all.

This place is also excellently located. It's on a quiet street with a sort of "h" shaped driveway which can fit 3 cars comfortably and probably 5 if you really needed to pack. There's also a garage that has bikes and beach supplies in it that can fit a car if needed. It's pretty much a 5 minute drive from anywhere in Falmouth. Whether you want to go to the awesome local restaurants, stores, and cafes in town or you want to head to chain stores like Stop & Shop, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Dunkin Donuts, and the likes - this house has really easy access to anywhere you'd need to go!

The kitchen is also pretty nice and has a stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, and a fridge. They also provide a wide variety of glasses (drinking, wine, margarita, etc) as well as cutting boards, pots & pans, and cutlery. So when you take a full week rental you can buy some groceries and cook or reheat food if you don't want to eat out every night.

This place was a spacious and comfortable house with everything a half dozen adults and an infant could ask for in a vacation rental. We had an excellent time and this was a wonderful base of operations to live out of for a week while we explored Falmouth & Mashpee, went to the beach and for walks, hung out, and prepared for a wedding (not at the rental). I would highly recommend this place to families and friend groups, and I would seriously consider returning here for any future vacations to Cape Cod! show more show less

We rented the property the last week of June 2022. We can recommend the place without hesitation. The house is much bigger that it would appear from the outside. It's clean, full of light, very well furnished and the kitchen is nicely equipped.

The back yard is pleasantly landscaped and we spent a lovely time there, with our daughter, our son in law and our granddaughter visiting from Arizona. The rental process with the owners was painless and fair. There is also a beautiful association beach within short and pleasant walk available for the renters of the property. show more show less

We were lucky enough to have ten perfect days in this awesome beach house! Plenty of space for our extended family to enjoy a" 2020" type of vacation. It is a very short walk to the Association beach which we used daily, (we checked out other beaches during our stay but decided to stick with the close one which had great views), the house has beach chairs, bikes, beach wagon, and beach umbrella available for use also. We loved the patio and the backyard is so beautiful and relaxing! There are so many benefits in this large 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home.... also an outdoor shower which was used daily.

The Falmouth area is great with close proximity to the bridge so traffic is not a problem, taking a day trip to the Vineyard is easy too. We enjoyed a few good restaurants nearby and had a number of great meals at the house too. There are plenty of places to walk and/or ride bikes in the area even though the home is on a Main Street. This house is so spacious and well-appointed! Due to coronavirus all of our families' summer plans got canceled and we feel fortunate to have rented this beautiful house for two weeks. It is all brand new - the landscaping is simply gorgeous, the backyard offers a serene spot for your morning coffee or grilling and drinks at night, beds are all very comfortable, and there is plenty of space for two families, plus. We brought our niece as an extra set of hands for the younger kids and found there was plenty of room for her, too. 3 indoor showers plus the outdoor shower means that you never have the after-beach "wait" to get cleaned up. The Master bath feels like a hotel - really nicely done.

The 5-minute walk to the private association beach is very easy and scenic, we never ventured to the public beaches to avoid crowds - kids had enough fun at the association beach that we didn't need to.

The house was sparkling clean so we felt super comfortable from the moment we got there. It's on a busier road so you'd want to keep an eye on children under 5 in the front yard/driveway but the backyard is big enough that you don't really need the front yard. Our group had kids aged 6-13 so we felt like they were all able to be smart around the street. Thanks again so much for giving us a couple of weeks of fun and sun! show more show less
