I have been a landlord in the greater Boston area for 30 years, and have been offering this short-term vacation rental for several years now. My family has spent many summer days enjoying time in our home in Falmouth, but our children are now older and out of college, and summer plans often have them elsewhere. So now I am offering our home for rent, and hoping that other families will have the same wonderful Cape Cod experiences there that we've had.
What is special about this property?
For a property off Maravista this close to the center of Falmouth and area shopping, it really offers exceptional privacy and a large yard. The backyard backs up against a street, not other homes, and the border is landscaped with evergreens, meaning you don't see neighbor houses at all. Prior guests have said that the oversized lot is large enough to have a badminton game in one part, and a (small) softball game in the other.
The house itself also provides generous spaces for a family to spread out, particularly due to the large dining room/family room addition. Everyone can get together to watch a movie and eat popcorn in the family room, but individuals can also spread out and find space for their own activities.
What is special about your town?
Falmouth is the quintessential Cape Cod town. From ten town beaches, to the Shining Sea Bike path, to the Aquarium and the Oceanographic Institute at Woods Hole, great restaurants and a quaint downtown to stroll through and explore, there is something for everyone. With golfing, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding, to visits to the Children's Museum, garden, historical and art installation tours, and the Cape Cod Winery, plus opportunities for easy day trips further down Cape, you'll never run out of things to do.
