Our Family has enjoyed this fine summer home since my parents built it in the late sixties. Nine years ago my Father passed away and Mom went into assisted care. That year I took over the management of the House as a rental. I am listed on the deed as one of three owners.
Fact is I am the only Family member besides my Folks who has visited or used the House for many years. The other two owners, my two brothers, have their own summer homes and separate lives from myself. If I outlive my Mother who is 94, I will assume sole ownership of the House.
I am a former High School Teacher and current licensed Building Contractor. I am a single man with no kids, though I have helped to raise a couple of good ones not of my own making. Thus, I am free and able to keep the Cape House in excellent working condition each year, as well as providing appropriate upgrades, and have done so for several decades now, long before my Folks left their dear Summer Home eight years ago.
Our Family spent many happy years at this fine House full of peace and laughter, entertaining Guests, Relatives, and Friends. We now hope you and yours will enjoy the same, as our next new Guests. We've rented every week for the entire summer season for nine consecutive years now with many great reviews and returning Guests. The House summer rental schedule is typically filled by the end of April, if not before. I will do my very best to assure you have a relaxing, trouble free stay at our Cape House. George M.
What is special about this property?
The Location is excellent. We are close to the water (300') and, thus, enjoy cooling sea breezes, fun bird activity, and few insects. The House is in a very quite part of our Neighborhood Association situated on modest sized circle with no through traffic. The neighborhood is child, family, and bicycle friendly,
As most Folks know, Cape Cod summer traffic can be exasperating. It can take an hour to go ten miles on a really nice day and even longer if it rains and people use this 'down time' to shop. Our House is located off the beaten path on a peninsula but is convenient to most shopping while avoiding summer traffic. We are, for example, an eight minute drive along the ocean to a 'small' Walmart which is next to a large supermarket. Another half a mile on back roads gets you to all kinds of stores and restaurants right on the edge of the Town proper. As noted before, we are just one to four miles on minor roads from four beautiful Ocean Beaches, well run by the Town of Falmouth.
What is special about your town?
Falmouth speaks for itself as a World Class destination on Cape Cod as well as a favorite of 'New Englanders' in the summer. It has 12 beautiful beaches, endless boating and fishing possibilities, and numerous public boat launches. It has a World Class Bike Trail, the Shining Sea Path, a World Class Road Race, the Falmouth Road Race, and many different ferries to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and New Bedford MA. The Island Queen is a passenger ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The Island Queen dock is located about eight minutes from our Cape House. There are interesting shops galore, fine restaurants both on and off of the water, and a wonderful group of Libraries!
Falmouth, and our House as well, is just 20 minutes from the Bourne Bridge across the Cape Cod Canal which is a real bonus if one is driving to the Cape from any distance. For a more complete view of Falmouth visit the Town's website, easily found on the Internet. You won't be disappointed!
