The Berrys' Cape House - Your place on the Cape!

My husband, adult sons, friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at this Cape House. We have been renting on the Cape for over 30 summers and this house was one of the most well-equipped rentals we have ever stayed at! The beds and sofas were all very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Having sheets and towels provided is a great bonus, as it saves hundreds of dollars in rental costs. But in addition to sheets and towels, Peg and Dave provide so many of the household essentials that we typically have to drag up to a rental or buy at the grocery store (e.g., aluminum foil, ziploc bags, laundry detergent, kitchen towels, games, beach chairs, garbage bags, olive oil, salt and pepper, spices, etc. etc. etc.) that it made our stay absolutely seamless and pleasant. In addition to all of that, Peg was incredibly responsive, providing us with ideas for good ponds to swim and paddle in, bearing in mind the mobility limitations of a member of our party. We just finished a stay at the Berry's Cape House. It was a wonderful place to stay. We were celebrating a family reunion and the 60th anniversary of my parents. There was plenty of room to invite friends to this roomy open layout. Big kitchen with all the amenities. Room to sit at the island in the kitchen and around a large table with plenty of chairs where we played games. Two full bathrooms with lots of very soft towels (one on the first floor and one upstairs.)

Bonus, my husband and I loved the outdoor shower! WOW that was awesome! Back yard is big and beautiful with a grill, covered table and lots of chairs, propane fire pit with chairs all around, clothes line to hang towels, and plenty of beautiful Hydrangeas all around. There were even basil and rosemary plants! We slept 7 adults/teens but it could accommodate 8 (a child in top bunk) or 9 two children (on the futon in the extra reading room on the first floor.) The living room had a good size tv, large couch that accommodated our whole family, and game table where my teen boys played video games. The appliances included a very large capacity washing machine that worked really well, a large fridge, and dishwasher. Finally that beautiful front porch for quiet time, reflection, and good conversation on the porch swing. In the shed were 5-6 working bikes with helmets, beach chairs, bike pump, and tools.

And on top of the beautiful place was extremely supportive and responsive owner, Peg who texted with me, responding quickly, and stayed in touch for any needs or question I had. I would definitely stay here again. show more show less

My wife and I had a truly superb stay at Peg and Dave's Cape house. This was our very first get-away since before COVID-19 hit in early 2020. We are seasoned global travelers for both business and pleasure, and are very particular where we stay. Suffice it to say: The house far exceeded our expectations in multiple ways, including cleanliness, modern amenities, and location. Everything was perfect. Like a favorite pair of slippers, we were immediately comfortable the moment we walked in the door.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Peg and Dave's Cape house. Everything was as promised! The house is clean, spacious, and well located. We were right near the bike trail and all the Eastham, Wellfleet, and Orleans beaches, trails, and restaurants were an easy drive. We felt very comfortable with all the COVID precautions being taken by the Peg and Dave and in Cape Cod in general. Peg was incredibly responsive and helpful- even with personalized recommendations and answers to my long list of questions! And they thought of so may extras that were awesome- everything we needed in the kitchen, bikes to use, cooler bag for the beach, games, puzzles, etc. We truly felt like we were guests in someone's home. We also loved the outside space- outside shower, porch swing and rockers, fire pit, and backyard table- so much great space. Our week in Eastham was truly the bright spot in an otherwise crazy year! The Berry's Cape House was a delightful and welcoming place for our summer vacation on Cape Cod! We truly enjoyed our time, and the house itself is beautiful both inside and out. It provides many amenities and spacious areas for relaxation and socialization: the rocking chairs on the front porch, the marvelous patio and awesome firepit, the inviting kitchen and dining area, the comfortable bedrooms, the beach inspired artwork, the splendid outdoor shower (which is the best after time spent at the beach!) The house has everything we needed for day to day living (well equipped kitchen, grill, bedding, etc.), as well as recreational activities (beach equipment, games, puzzles, books, bike pump).

Another fabulous feature of this house is its location-on a quiet cul-de-sac, close to the bike path, close to beautiful beaches, and close to delicious restaurants! We took full advantage of the opportunities around us! The road is great for kids to bike on, and the bike path is a lot of fun (you can travel into Orleans or Wellfleet depending on which way you go). Additionally, you can easily access the ocean side beaches for refreshing and invigorating big waves at Nauset Light and Coast Guard Beach. Nauset Lighthouse also provides a lovely sight to behold (the light is always on, and the structure is occasionally open for tours-great view at the top!). You can just as easily travel to the bayside for a calmer experience and gorgeous sunset (First Encounter Beach is a great one!). There are so many great food establishments around to explore-Nauset Light Ice Cream, Hole in One Donuts, Arnold's, Fairway Pizzeria, and Sam's Deli were all exceptionally delicious.

And last but not least, one of my favorite parts of this great house is the charming rock garden in the backyard, filled with magnificent and magical heart shaped rocks found locally at the beaches.

Peg and Dave are very nice and clearly work hard to keep the house in great shape for their guests. They were readily available to answer any of my questions and to provide solid recommendations as requested.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Berry Cape House, and look forward to my next visit! My family and I love the Cape and this house is the perfect vacation home-thank you Peg and Dave!

This was a REALLY terrific place to stay!

The house itself was spacious and comfortable. It was also well-maintained and exceptionally clean. It was great to arrive on our first night and feel immediately at home.

The location was also fantastic; just the right balance for me. I liked that it was not right in the middle of a vacation hotspot. At the same time, it was very convenient to beautiful beaches and great places to chill out and enjoy dinner and drinks.

Fabulous location! The house is located close to great restaurants, shops and outdoor activities for the kids!! Loved being 5 minute bike ride to Coast Guard Beach, early morning and late evening walks will not disappoint! Incredibly comfortable bedrooms with cozy living room, kitchen and additional living space. We absolutely enjoyed the patio and spending time in the backyard grilling several nights while enjoying everything Cape Cod had to offer. We already booked the entire house for a family celebration for next summer!! The owners are very easy to communicate with and were very pleasant, thank you so much! show more show less

Our family was fortunate to stay at this property as a result of winning a charity auction. We've spent many summers at the Cape, at various homes from Chatham to Truro, and this time we wanted to try something different and go off-season. I'm glad we did. The Cape is wonderful to explore year-round, and the location of this home was perfect! It is centrally located, on a quiet road, nestled between Chatham and P-town, and very close to the incredible National Seashore and bayside beaches, as well as a number of crystal clear ponds, along with some great local restaurants.

Exploring during the off-season was a special treat, and seeing the Nauset Lighthouse and sand dune beaches covered with a dusting of snow gave a new perspective of the Cape's beauty. The home itself was wonderful and well maintained. It was tastefully decorated and spacious, with plenty of room to gather for food and drinks. Nice and bright, and a great environment to relax in. The bedrooms provided true comfort, and the hidden corner cubbie in the bunk room is a great bonus for the little ones. Overall, the property gave a home away from home feel, and we definitely look forward to staying here again, in any season. We would recommend this home to anyone, and you would not be disappointed. If out and about, some suggestions to explore off the beaten path would include the Eastham Glacial Ponds Trail System at Wiley Park / Great Pond Beach, and the Hole In One Bakery and Coffee shop for a tasty breakfast or lunch. show more show less

I fell in love with this at first sight! It's so sweet and welcoming. Peg and Dave have done a fantastic job with this property, and they are great hosts. There is everything you need to be comfortable and feel at home, with plenty of room. Sit on the front porch in rocking chairs or in the enclosed patio with a fire pit - the perfect places to relax after the beach. Eastham is a great location, with plenty of eating and shopping nearby. (Don't miss Arnold's - the best lobster and whole belly clams!) But if you feel like cooking, the kitchen has everything you need to create a gourmet meal.

I want to come back every year, and make this "my" vacation house. show more show less
