This cozy retreat is nestled in a grove of trees just a short 1/2 mile walk down a sandy lane to beautiful Cape Cod Bay. Open floor plan flows to the kitchen, sliding doors lead to the deck, beamed cathedral ceiling, skylights, hardwood floors, stone fireplace and a downstairs den provide plenty of comfortable living space. The fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher includes everything you will need during your stay. Enjoy wifi, smart TVs with cable, soundbar, board games and a swap library.

After a long day of sun and sand, take a lovely shower in our large outside shower and then relax on one of our two decks and enjoy the privacy of the large, wooded property. Read peacefully on the sunset deck, relax in the glider or hammock, BBQ and eat out on tables on the main deck, play horseshoes, badminton or corn hole in the large yard. Finish the day with a picturesque walk/bike ride down one of our sandy lanes to the beach and watch the beautiful sunsets over the bay, then spend the evening around the firepit roasting marshmallows under the stars.

    Great location, house was great, clean, and had everything we needed. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor games at the house to use for adults and kids. Lots of room inside and out.

    A great place to stay!

    Our family has stayed at this lovely property every year for several consecutive years now. Every single year it is wonderful! It is spacious (we come with 10 people for a week) and fully stocked! We love our mornings and evenings on the deck after a fun-filled day at the bay, which our kids are now old enough to walk or bike to (provided)! The house was truly a treasure to find and one we look forward to returning to for years to come!

    Wonderful and relaxing!

    House is secluded and has W/D, central AC and is within easy walking distance of the bay (0.5 miles) and a short drive to the ocean.

    Also close to Provincetown and many affordable seafood restaurants.

    Highly recommended and will return for sure!

    Cape Retreat

    Our family and friends have enjoyed an annual Cape Retreat at Kilbarry for past 10 years, including June 2022. The owner made some nice upgrades the past couple years, including AC, new fire pit, corn hole game and general use bikes and beach things.

    The property is good size, location is quiet, and the walk to bay is pleasant. The two levels in the house work well, with the lower level generally serving as kids gathering place. Overall, a consistently enjoyable experience.

    Perfect for a Multi-Family Vacation with Children!

    We had a wonderful stay at the Cape in this house! We shared the home with family (4 adults and 6 kids) and could not have been more comfortable. There was plenty of space to host large family dinners, and the well-stocked kitchen made it easy to cook for a crowd. Anything we could have possibly needed was available (from a portable crib and high chair to a beach wagon, umbrella, and sand toys). There were also plenty of games for indoor and outdoor use. The yard is beautiful with multiple seating areas, and the bay is only a short walk or bike ride away. Kathy was very responsive and provided detailed information about the house and the area.     Wonderful secluded spot!

    The property was amazing, and the stay was wonderful. I have been coming to Cape Cod since I was literally a babe in arms. I am the third oldest of five children and every summer my parents would take us to Cape Cod for vacation. We always stayed at Nickerson State Park, and my memories of Cape Cod are perfectly magical.

    This property was well stocked and well-kept. Our experience there this past summer was great. My wife and I are now raising our five children, and we try to get to Cape Cod every summer so that our kids will have the same wonderful memories of the Cape that I have.

    Cape Cod has drawn my family to its shores for many years. I fell in love with the Cape's beautiful beaches, sandy lanes, flowering gardens & wooded back roads as a teenager. My brother has lived here on and off for 35 years. My cousins have a house here. After years of visiting & vacationing on Cape finally, in 2005, I had the great good fortune to purchase my own cottage. It was the best decision I ever made! We are often asked why this house is named Kilbarry. My grandparents on both sides hailed from Ireland. I was lucky to grow up with them in my life and was weaned on stories of the “Old Country”. My maternal grandfather’s stories centered around the escapades he, his three brothers and their little dog Fly had on the family farm in County Cork. The farm, Kilbarry, remains in my mother’s family today. Over the years it has become synonymous in our family with places that are a “little slice of heaven”. In Ireland, Kilbarry Farm was only 15 miles from the shore. My grandfather had the Irishman’s love of the sea. According to my mother “Every year of his life, that he was able, he made his annual pilgrimage to the sea ...he breathed in the sea air, bathed in the ocean & returned renewed.” With this in mind, when I acquired my cottage, just a stone’s throw from Cape Cod Bay, there was only one name that it could possibly have, Kilbarry by the Bay. We hope you enjoy our ''little slice of heaven'' here near Cape Cod Bay.

    What is special about this property?
    A cottage at the beach or a cabin in the woods? Both are wonderful places for a holiday retreat. At Kilbarry by the Bay you don't have to choose one or the other because you will find that our beach cottage is also nestled in the woods. The quiet secluded cottage with its large yard and wooded property is perfect for enjoying the outdoor beauty of the Cape. There is plenty of deck and yard furniture, a hammock, lots of outdoor games, bikes, beach chairs and beach toys available for use by our guests. The large outside shower is heavenly. The house has two bedrooms and a full bath on each floor making it perfect for an extended family or two families travelling together. We love the open plan layout, beamed ceilings and skylights that make the house open and full of light. The house is fully heated and winterized and with its stone fireplace is also a great for fall/winter getaway.

    What is special about your town?
    Eastham is the gateway to the National Seashore. Eastham has beautiful ocean and bay beaches as well as a freshwater lake (pond) which is great for swimming when the tide is out. Sunset over Cape Cod bay is unparalleled. Lobster and clam shacks, mini golf, fishing, boating and plenty of hiking trails are there for your enjoyment. Cape Cod is home to the famous Cape Cod summer baseball league. Summer stock theater, art shows, galleries and music are easily accessible. Picturesque shops, crafts and antiques are dotted throughout the Cape. History abounds with museums and monuments to America's early settlers.
