Description

This 1920 beach house is great for a family reunion. Within walking distance of Campground Beach, it includes a 5 bedroom main house and a 2 bedroom apartment. Close to the National Seashore, the Audubon, and the only drive-in movie theater on Cape Cod. The main house has a living room, dining room, kitchen, and an enclosed porch with fan. The upstairs includes 5 bedrooms: a king, twins, full, full and twins. The bathrooms include a boys toilet, girls toilet and shower with sink.

The apartment is part of the house with a separate entrance and one level. There is a living/dining area, kitchen, queen bed, twins and bathroom with shower.

There is also an outside shower. There are two patios for dining outside. The yard has a privacy fence and is level for activities. There has also been added a patio tent with netting on the house side.
The house is a short walk to a convenience store. This is a quiet area and a 2 minute walk to the bayside. There is a small store for the kids a short walk down campground road. The house is about a 20 minute drive to Provincetown and a 10 minute drive to Orleans. This house has had many happy family's stay in the past and we're happy to be able to offer it again for new families to begin their own traditions.

A great house for family gatherings

Just returned from a wonderful week in Eastham with children and grandchildren. Although not our first time in Eastham, it was our first time staying in this home. We were delighted to find ample space for all to sleep, eat, and play with space inside and out for both children and adults to enjoy. House is well equipped with all the necessities including a porta crib and high chair and plenty of dishes, pots and pans, etc. The in-law apt also has a refrigerator so there was no problem stocking enough food for 12 people. It was a pleasure to take the 5 minute stroll to the beach anytime of day, making it easy for early morning and late evening walks on the beach. Space to eat outside that allowed for takeout from our favorite seafood restaurant, Friendly Fisherman, allowing little ones to play when they had finished their meal. Easy trips from the house to Provincetown, Atlantic Spice Co, Red Barn Mini Golf, First Encounter Beach, and Coast Guard Beach and National Seashore Museum. Hopefully this is the first of many stays at this comfortable home. show more show less

Great location. Just a short walk to an amazing beach that we enjoyed every day. The slew of bedrooms fit our large family's needs and made for a very restful stay.

Another amazing week at the Cape but it always seems like a couple of days-time certainly flyies by when life is at its best.WEe had amzing weather and made the most of the daily trips to Campground
Beach at both low, high, and the famous "middle"tide" that our kids love so much. This year we added excursions to the Wellfleet Bird Sanctuary and Great Island Trail, finding an amazing secluded beach on its eastern side. We caught an Orleans Firebirds game, saw Minions at the Wellfleet Drive In, and at Arnolds more times than we can count
! Marconi provided an ample supply of big waves for the boogie boarders and mini-golf at Arnolds was a blast. The kids enjoyed the Chatham fish pier with seals and ample dogfish sharks being loaded for market. Well, another years for the books and we couldn't be happier. Thank-you Ponichteras for keeping such a great place where we are able to create great memories year after year.

The dining room was a great place for our late-night card games and celebrated birthdays. The out door shower was the best. This property is owned by Pam and Andy Ponichtera who have been vacation rental owners for over 20 years, while raising children, helping with grandchildren and continuing careers in pediatric nursing and family dentistry/prosthodontics out of the home base in Connecticut. Pam grew up going to a family property in Dennis, MA for weeks at a time in the summer while Andy has fond memories of renting annually in the same neighborhood where we are currently offering this rental near Campground Beach in Eastham, MA.

We absolutely love the stories heard from renters, the wonderful experiences our own immediate and extended families have had together at this location and continuing the traditions which have been born through repetition from our youth, continuing with children and now grandchildren. The property lends itself well to use for croquet, water-gun battles, outdoor/indoor card or board games, crafts, hide and seek and of course walks to the beach at any hour of any day we are given. There is no need for television or modern electronics when you are on the Cape, rain or shine we guaranty you can find some better way to bide your time and keep idle hands busy!

We would love if you rented our property, even more if you could share some tidbits of the highlights of your stay!

What is special about this property?
This property has years of rental history from the late 90's into the early 2000s and is now back on the market for additional families to call their Beach House for one week at a time!

More recently the house was utilized for lots of child and grandchild birthday parties, graduation celebrations and family announcements. We have had reunions, pinatas, little tiny baby grandchildren getting their first feel for sand between their toes and big tall towering grandchildren bringing their siblings around for activities just like we did for our own children or even our siblings.

This house is one of the first properties built on this land in 1916, it was originally a boarding house with a long history and an enclosed garage. Prior to our purchase the garage was turned into a separate living space with every amenity that entails, the perfect space for a young family to separate the napping children from the staying up late children in the main house. It is a short 5 minute walk to the bayside Campground beach where you can swim in light waves on a windy day at high tide, or can walk for hundreds of yards toward the center of Cape Cod Bay at low tide. It is a short 5 minute drive to Wiley Park Beach the local fresh watering hole with a playground, walking trails, a great dock, lifeguards and the perfect pitch in water depth for those new swimmers to gain experience.

What is special about your town?
The forearm of Cape Cod is a great location and Eastham is ideal. It's a short drive into Orleans for a large supermarket with everything you may need for your stay in both sustenance and entertainment, or for miniature golf, a larger hardware store, retail stores of all stripes and great food locations.

Eastham, and neighboring Wellfleet have their own smaller versions of all these things as well, like the great onion rings, ample selection of other food, miniature golf and ice cream all at Arnolds only a 5 minute drive away. A show at the W.H.A.T theatre, the public parking at Mayo Beach in Wellfleet for a change of scenery from your home beach a walk away and Mac's Seafood or The Bookstore restaurants to recharge after tiring yourself out playing in the harbor or at the playground/skate park across the street. On a rainy day, aside from boardgames and other indoor play at the house you can visit the National Seashore Visitor Center/Museum, Marconi the location of the first transatlantic comms or other interesting places further away or maybe right around the corner.

Of course for another trip you have to visit Provincetown with a wealth of history to learn about, retail and other sights to see. Climb the Pilgrim Monument, go to a show, or just have some food and 'shop therapy'.

We hope you will come to the Cape one way or another, it is a special place where some very special people we know live year round and seasonally. Come and make some memories to last a lifetime!
