We have a great deal of experience in sharing our Chatham home with others. Our parents purchased the Cranberry Way house over 50 years ago, and they bought it from the man who built it. For about 20 years, my brother and I have been managing the property, and renting it to guests each summer. It was always a privilege and responsibility to SHARE rugged beauty, ocean air, and a comfortable place to say with family, neighbors, and regular guests. Since that time, there have been many improvements to the place. We have tried, however, to let the character and tradition of a three season beach cottage remain. Plenty of power outlets, smart TV, good wi- fi, basement laundry, and comfortable furniture are provided. The knotty pine walls, hot water outdoor shower, quiet street, flat yard, and short (1/2 mi) walk to beach, however, are the real reasons people have been visiting the house for many seasons. My brother and I have visited the Cape year round as children, as parents, and WITH grandparents. In addition to a special accommodation, we are happy to share two lifetimes of memorable (and often) still available experiences in Chatham and Cape Cod with those guests who may need recommendations
What is special about this property?
The home is close to both Cockle Cove beach and Cape Cod Rail Trail. A patio breakfast or quiet walk to hatch plans for the day is a great start. Nauset Beach (big waves/ cold water) and Rock Harbor (tidal highs and lows) are a nearby drive. Hardings Beach, Ridgvale, and Forest Beach all walkable for most. Ferry ride to Marthas Vineyard is a full days adventure. Lighthouse spotting at Chatham, Nauset, Race Point, Woods Hole (Nobska) is another full day, but there are other lighthouses too! I also strongly suggest to experience the street and yard AT NIGHT. No street lights create an environment similar to 'dark sky' zones. Even without a telescope, to view the stars on a clear night is spectacular!
What is special about your town?
With all due respect to our neighbors, Chatham is the best town on the Cape! 300+ years of history. Famous Chatham Lighthouse (and lighthouse beach). Chatham Anglers baseball (summer). Friday Chatham Band Concerts. Chatham Fish Pier (still operational, and 'observation deck'). ALMOST the same distance to Plymouth or Provincetown. LOTS to do for travelers of all ages. Visitors to Chatham get spoiled very quickly, and return very often.
