This centrally located vacation rental is only a few minutes' walk from swimming, biking, ballfields, a skate park and a playground!

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood down a private dirt road, this 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home has a comfortable living room and eat-in kitchen for your stay. The bedrooms and living room all have a window-unit AC. There is a large flat-screen TV in the living room with high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the home. Adjacent to the living room is the fully equipped kitchen which leads out onto the deck with a gas grill and a large outdoor dining table and umbrella. Enjoy relaxing or sunbathing in the large, manicured backyard or hang out by the fire pit on those cool Cape summer nights. A roomy outdoor shower awaits you after long days at the beach or the pond!

Goose Pond is only steps away from the house. There is a path across the house that leads you to the 38-acre freshwater pond where you can swim, fish, kayak or canoe. You can also go to the life-guarded Schoolhouse Pond which is about a 10-minute walk from the house or just a short drive (limited parking in summer months however).

Walk or ride your bike via a private dirt road over to the ballfields, playground and skatepark for some family fun. Here is where you can connect to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and bike to Chatham’s downtown area where you will find shops, fine and casual dining, Friday night band concerts and more!

Chatham has some of the finest saltwater beaches in New England and at only 1.5 miles away, Ridgevale Beach is waiting. It is a large, popular town beach with lifeguards and a snack shack (find your beach supplies, rent sailboats and get a milkshake here!). At only 2.5 miles from the house, the Barn Hill boat ramp provides access to Nantucket sound and just down the road from here is Harding's beach, another town lifeguarded beach (lookout for the ice cream truck stops here!). Jackknife Harbor is only 2 miles away on Pleasant Bay (no fees to park) and watch the sailboats while doing a little swimming. After you dry off, head to the Chatham fish pier to see the seals and watch the fisherman off-load their catch from the brand-new observation deck.

Within 1.5 miles from the house, six West Chatham restaurants are waiting for you. You can get your coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner without driving downtown! East Harwich is only 2 miles away for more diverse restaurants and bars. There is also a grocery store (Stop & Shop) in East Harwich for your picnic and beach supplies. Check out the Chatham Village market closer to downtown, for some specialty deli and pastry selections.

How about getting your non-resident family shellfish permit for your vacation?! Catch your own dinner at Stage Harbor’s family permit shellfish area and bring it back to the house for your own summer clambake!

    Wonderful home = great vacation !

    This home is clean, modern and very well organized! The location was great as it was so close to many things including restaurants and shops. Ted was very easy to work with and available. We hope to rent for many more years ahead!

    This home was in a great location, very well appointed, and very clean with a great yard and outdoor eating area. It was convenient to downtown Chatham and the bike trails! My grandkids loved swimming in the pond after a day at the beach.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious, clean, comfortable house. The location was convenient for us to bike, go to area beaches, shop and visit family in West Dennis. We made use of the grill several times and enjoyed outdoor dining on the deck. Ted's list of suggested restaurants and other local businesses was helpful and appreciated. I would definitely recommend renting this home!

    It's difficult to know where to start:
    We've been coming to Chatham area for 50+ years.
    This year's experience was , by far, the best in so many ways:
    The cottage was immaculate, updated and stocked with all items that many rentals are lacking: lots of linens ( the beds were all made!)/ "tons" of towels , etc.--extra trash bags, dish/ laundry soap.
    The large, gorgeous back yard was a haven for the family ( grandchildren) replete with a hammock in the shady tree! There was a spacious deck/ patio and excellent grill with large tables --loved eating and socializing !
    Fresh water Goose Pond was a hop away -so perfect for the toddlers, though Schoolhouse Pond, around the corner was our favorite!
    Of course, any number of the ocean beaches are minutes away, also.
    Part of our family has returned to their home in Africa , but they still are reliving the dream of this home!

    Great rental home

    This was a great rental home. The house is beautiful with a great yard. Huge firepit and lots of seating for outside entertaining. Walking distance to Goose Pond which was very clean and had a little beach area where you can relax. The house is in a great location close to beaches and downtown Chatham. Huge smart TV and easy access to the internet and all of our streaming accounts. It is a very quiet neighborhood. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had.     Great house, great location

    This house was freshly painted with new furniture-very tasteful. The kitchen had all the equipment one would need to prepare a wide range of meals. The deck was easily accessible and overlooked a beautiful, private yard. The bike path was easily accessible without the need to ride on a busy road.

    Wonderful Cape home!

    Ted was a terrific host - very accessible and ready to answer all questions. The house is newly renovated, beautifully furnished, well laid-out and had everything we needed. Loved walking to the pond for a swim and having the bike path so close by. Would go back in a heartbeat!

    I was born and raised on Cape Cod and have lived in Chatham my whole life. I've been a commercial fisherman (as all my family before me) since high school. I love working and living on the water and think that Chatham is one of the most beautiful places to live and visit. I currently work for a marine research center as the manager/captain of their research vessels. I co-own the house with my eldest son Matt. He also currently works as a commercial fisherman. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism and has worked in managerial and chef capacities in local restaurants.

    What is special about this property?
    I built this home in 1986 with my father and friends. I raised my three kids in our home and currently co-own it with my eldest son, Matt. In 2021 we completely renovated and revitalized the house. We decorated the space to give a light and airy feel to bring that brightness and relaxation you are looking for in a summer Cape rental. The house sits on a private dirt road with access to Goose Pond from across the street. It is walking distance to an additional life-guarded pond, Schoolhouse Pond, a playground, skate park, and bike path. It's less than 5 minutes to Ridgevale and Hardings Beach.

    What is special about your town?
    Chatham is one of the most picturesque towns on the Cape. It has a wonderful, walkable downtown with lots of shopping, art galleries and restaurants to enjoy. Enjoy summer activities like band concerts, baseball games and shows. There is currently a re-vitalization of West Chatham happening with new, walkable sidewalks, several more restaurants/eateries and some new shopping and art galleries to enjoy. Chatham has many beaches, ponds and marinas to enjoy your time in our coastal town. There are plenty of kayaking, bike and boat rental options in the area. The outer beaches are wonderful to visit either via your own private boat, charter or one of the infamous seal cruises.
