Artists Tom and Carol Odell have owned this property since 1975. Tom is a sculptor / metal artist / jeweler and Carol is a fine arts painter working in oil, monotype and encaustic. They maintain several gardens on the property including a large vegetable garden. Carol is very active with the local land trust , the Chatham Conservation Foundation and can help visitors find walks and hikes in the area. Because they have lived in Chatham for over 40 years, they can answer many questions about the area.

What is special about this property?
The property is part of a complex consisting of an 1860's Greek Revival house on the main street of Chatham where the owners have a gallery and their home, a two story ''barn'' where they have their studios and the cottage. The cottage is set off the street behind the main house and overlooks a large backyard and gardens. There is ample off-street parking. The cottage has two identical efficiency units with entrances on opposite sides of the building. There is an outdoor table and seating for each unit. Indoor storage for bicycles or strollers is available. This unique property is in a wonderful location offering the best of in-town living with a spacious back yard. The Mill Pond with Town dock is close by and there are three Atlantic beaches within 1/2 mile. Visitors can walk to shopping, dining, theatre, library, etc.

Chatham is surrounded by water on three sides offering a large selection of beaches and fresh water ponds.
The town consists of small village centers, Main street being one. This property is located at the east end of Main Street on the edge of the Old Village which is designated an historic area with small winding streets and older antique homes. Guests do not need a car to enjoy beaches, movies, summer theatre, playground, library or ball games.
