Very Short Walk to Beach in Chatham

This cottage will provide everything you would want from a Cape Cod vacation. So picturesque. A very short walk to the quiet and beautiful small cove beach. Perfect for little kids. Another slightly longer walk to yet another larger beach. The house has everything you would need. The kitchen is modern, updated, and cheery. All supplies you need are there. So much character. A beautiful picture window in the back by the dining table gives a view of the water! The living room is comfortable and Susan has thought of everything including ACs that work very well (on those hot days!) and all the beach supplies you would need. We brought a couple of chairs and we didn't need to.

Susan is a fantastic host and keeps the house very well maintained. My boyfriend, my daughter and son and his girlfriend all had a lovely time. The restaurants in Chatham are great. We brought bikes and also rented bikes and rode all the way to Chatham and beyond. We also went on a ghost hunters tour in Barnstable. Super fun! However, we did have a very bad experience at the Talkative Pig. Would not recommend. Except for that experience, I would say we had a perfect holiday. Brought the grandchildren back to this home for a little Nana and Grampy time. 3, 7, and 10. They had a fabulous time. Nothing like early morning walks to the beach, evening walks searching for fireflies, s'mores on the grill (well, we improvise) and taking showers outside to prevent the sand from coming into the house. Movie night every night, card games and trips to the Schoolhouse for ice cream. Don't forget the sharks in the park and the whales. 3rd trip and we couldn't be happier. We stayed during the hottest week of the summer (temps in the mid 90s) and this house gave us both a quick trip to the beach in the morning and some air conditioned sanctuary for the hot afternoons. An ideal location just a short walk to a great beach, and we truly enjoyed our stay. The home was very family friendly and had all of the necessities and then some. We wanted for nothing but more vacation time.

Had the chance to visit this beautiful cottage in September. The weather cooperated and we truly enjoyed the home and the location. Twice daily walks on the beach and in the neighborhood. Chatham was a fun girls shopping trip and Provincetown was a short drive away. The owner, Sue, thought of everything in the cottage, and we had a lovely stay. Can't wait til next summer to come back again with the grandkids!

I have been vacationing yearly at this property since 1995 and it's become like a second home for me. The property is the best of Cape Cod, dating back to the 1950s and yet with all the modern conveniences. The owner is incredibly responsive to all requests and every year surprises me with yet another update to the home. The house is a few minutes walk from Nantucket Sound where there is a private neighborhood sandy beach. South Chatham is a wonderful area for anyone wishing a restful yet reinvigorating vacation, and this property is in a prime location. show more show less
