Description

Since the 2019 Pandemic, we have 3 major upgrades including:
1.) Installed an iWave-R Residential Air Cleaner, a whole house unit providing safe air quality protection through our ducted heat/air conditioning system for the entire indoor living space. You breath better using patented cold plasma technology.
2.) Installed custom whole house water filtration system to remove PFAS and any contaminants found in our town water.
3.) Installed brand new Trane outdoor A/C unit with Smart Thermostat, Sept. 2022.

Our custom built home has 1,400 sq ft., single level-Open Floor Plan with 2 skylights, cathedral ceiling in Great Room with 8''x12'' solid wood fir beams above. Corian kitchen countertops over custom built kitchen cabinets with generous bar/eating area, 5 burner gas range, Asko dishwasher and side by side large refridgerator. All rooms have ceiling fans with an unobstructed water view. Wide red oak floors throughout with wool area rugs. Various books for all ages, including kids library. Loft area has 13 in.tv w/VHS & Disney tapes, 1 single bed w/access by custom mahogany ship's ladder. Not for toddlers or small children as there is no traditional handrail. Ladder can store on its own separate ladder rack to ''close'' access. Great for teens or an overflow guest or a quiet reading nook. Master bedrm has Stearns & Foster pillow-top KING bed. 2nd bdrm has QUEEN & single bed w/ private bath w/tub shower. For touch ups Central Vacuum with toe kick port in fully equipped kitchen. Lg 37 in. 1080p HD flat screen TV (not a smart tv) with High Def X-1 cable box in Lvg Rm, full cable and the fastest WiFi Comcast offers. Both baths have Corian counter tops w/Grohe fixtures over custom cabinets with drawers & large custom built medicine cabinets. Hand held shower spray and a shower head built in seat in master bath shower. Easy use for older or young guests. (1) 8 ft. fiberglass row boat in front on pond. Abutting public Schoolhouse Pond is northeast and beach parking requires a parking permit. Just a 10 minute row to a town landing swimming area instead! Public beach welcomes kids of all ages who love sandcastles! 2 Standard beach chairs, 4+ beach towels included. House is located on a private road with year round residents only, no thru traffic or public access. Parking for 2 cars on a shell/stone driveway edged in cobblestones. We share the private road with our neighbors. Front porch has outdoor white wicker furniture with cushions. New stone corner patio on NE side facing the pond. Weber Gas grill with new 2021 grates. Frigidaire stackable washer/dryer located in large main bathroom/mud room which has a separate exterior door leading to private area to a brand new custom outdoor shower enclosure spring of 2021. After beach/boating, shower outside & enter house through private side entrance into large bathroom/laundry to keep the beach sand outside. Very convenient & efficient. Complementary Free & Clear hypoallergenic laundry soap, trash bags, paper goods. Linens are 100% cotton, beds made upon arrival. We do not accept dogs and dogs are not allowed on any Chatham beaches in the summer. I love dogs but please make arrangements for your furry friend to stay at your home or kennel. There is not enough time between guests to remove dog hair, tracked in dirt from sandy wet paws and any ticks that hitchhike a ride into our home. Since we built this custom home all our gardens, shrubs and trees are now mature and offer green privacy screening, with lots of song birds!

Lower level is private, with all the operating systems for the entire house, including cable TV, electrical panel, all water connections and whole house water filtration unit, central vac, maintenance of utility/boiler room. It has finished space like upstairs, but continues to remain private for family storage purposes. Occasionally I may need to gain access or our professional adult female family member may stop by after work, during regular daytime hours. No exterior common area or facilities shared. It has a separate lower parking & entrance. Rental price has been adjusted down to reflect this consideration. This space offers heated storage. Please be sure to ask me any detailed questions on this subject.
No This is strictly enforced as we have year round neighbors that also enjoy our very private neighborhood, many whom walk their dogs, have grandchildren visiting and or simply enjoy a healthy stroll enjoying fresh Cape Cod air.

Please use the website for all inquiries. Thank you.

    Shangri-La on a Lake

Our first visit to Cape Cod. We stayed for 2 weeks and had friends from Boston as guests for a few days. We are outdoors people who love to hike in beautiful places. The grounds of this house (front yard and back) are spectacular in beauty in the Spring. Outstanding landscaping full of flowering plants. A birding paradise.

The house is lovely inside and very sunny thanks to skylights. Owner Kim has made sure the kitchen is well stocked. She lives in the neighborhood and is quickly available if needed. I only used the gas grill once and it worked well. We used the kitchen a lot.

Quick access to numerous bakeries, grocery stores, hardware stores, and fantastic restaurants. I had no idea Cape Cod was so diverse in its beauty. The best feature of this house is the picture windows which exist along the entire back of the house.

Front and back porches provide ample space for outdoor relaxing - even if it's raining. Windows are double-pane and act as sound buffers when the wild turkeys go gobbling by at dawn and dusk. Good water pressure and great outdoor shower stall. Highly recommended.

    Beautiful house & property!!

I would highly recommend staying at Kim's house! The house itself is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, spacious, and well kept. The view of the pond is so peaceful and pretty. I stayed here for a few months while working from home during the pandemic and it was the prefect place to escape the city. Kim is also a fantastic, kind, friendly host that made me feel right at home and was always available whenever I had questions.

    Perfect Cape Cod Experience

We're Californians and have rented many homes on the Cape and this one was our favorite. It's beautifully maintained, the pictures accurately portray the property, and it's a lovely peaceful setting. One of the most wonderful parts of the property is Kim, the hostess. She does everything possible to make your stay feel like home. I highly recommend it for two couples. Thank you again Kim.

    Home for the Holidays

My family and I have rented this property the last few years - visiting family on the Cape at Christmas. It's a lovely, peaceful setting, beautifully decorated and well furnished. Kim is a great host and makes an effort to provide a touch of Christmas every year - which we all enjoy.

This has it all............and then some

Our son was married on the Cape in May and this was THE perfect spot for resting leading up to and following the big day. Kim and Peter couldn't have been better hosts...above and beyond any other we've ever known. The house is pristine, the grounds perfectly kept and the view on the lake is calming. Also the location to all things "Cape Cod" is great.

We came back in August for another brief stay and would go back again, and again, and again.

    Lovely house and gracious owner!

Our family of 4 had just the right amount of space in this lovely and reasonably priced home. It looks exactly as it appears in the photos on this site. It is meticulously cared for and is in a picturesque and tranquil setting on the pond. The rowboats were a hit with my kids who loved rowing out to the middle of the pond to fish. The house had everything we needed, including central A/C, clean sheets, and nice beach and bath towels. Kim and her husband are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.

The house is located a short drive from the center of beautiful Chatham, which has lots of restaurants and specialty stores for browsing and shopping. We wished it was a little closer, but the drive was short and really was okay. On balance, the house is very close to some great Chatham beaches, so that made up for the town distance for our family. It was a very quick drive to Hardings and Ridgevale Beaches where we spent most of our time.

Overall I would recommend this rental if you are looking for a stunning and tranquil view and appreciate a carefully maintained house. Kim is lovely and actually offered us an extra night free because her prior renters had to leave a day early. She is very fussy about her home, but that makes for a cleaner and neater quality stay for all. We would return next summer but our kids really want to go to Martha's Vineyard, but would definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend this rental to others who want to be away from the crowds and downtown area, while still having all that a short car ride away, and who prefer to be on a pond vs close to the ocean.

For our honeymoon, my new husband and I both agreed that we wanted a truly relaxing, home away from home experience with our two dogs, Molly and Seamus. As New England natives, the true comforts in life to us are the very things the Cape has to offer: strolls along a cool beach, hikes through the woods, snuggling under a blanket in front of a fireplace, and eating fresh, local seafood by candlelight. To us, Chatham seemed the perfect place to escape for a few days after the hustle and bustle of our wedding, and to take a deep breath and enjoy the memory of our special day.
From the moment I contacted Kim Farber, our honeymoon became exactly what we were hoping for. Her easygoing and approachable nature made planning the trip one of the easiest aspects of our wedding planning process. Her prompt, thorough response allowed us to feel secure that when we arrived, everything would be easy. After emails and questions between us, I truly felt like we were going to stay with a friend!
When we arrived, we were not surprised to find a lovely home on a beautiful lake, complete with two hand-crafted Adirondack chairs facing the water. Upon entering the residence, a bottle of red wine and a bouquet of fresh flowers greeted us, along with a card congratulating us on our marriage. My husband was thrilled to see that she had also provided a local porter for him to sample. The house was immaculate, with hard wood floors and recently remodeled kitchen. The fire place completed the package, set into the wall across from a beautiful and very cozy couch. Needless to say, without even leaving the house, we were on the very vacation that we had hoped for: a relaxing, home away from home experience.
Though we didn't want to leave, we did knowing full well that we will return as soon as we possibly can to this beautiful home. Centrally located to Chatham's local eateries and beaches, it was quiet and serene, and we were so fortunate to come across it. We are so thankful for Kim's accommodating nature, and for the opportunity to find such a great place to go to the next time we visit Cape Cod!

We came over from England and had a fantastic time in this property. The house was immaculate and provided everything we could possibly need and the location was idyllic. My young son did not want to leave. Kim could not have been more hospitable. We would love to return one day.
