Okay Folks,

The longest winning streak in Cape Cod rental history is presented to Mrs Renate and The Sand Trap. This is our umpteenth stay at this wonderful place and it always always delivers. One can read about Chatham, Cape Cod and the wonderful plentiful things to do in other posts or travel literature but I'm going to tell you about this place - Absolutely Fantastic. Continued improvements and upgrades have been made since we started coming here almost two decades ago. The home is complete with everything one would need for a perfect Cape vacation. We just love the place and we will keep coming back - our stay is usually a longer one (3 weeks) . We are, as you can tell, huge fans so don't miss it.

What a great house for a week-long stay with my family. Renate has stocked The Sand Trap with everything you can think of. From the very well-appointed kitchen to sand toys, beach chairs and boogie boards for the beach to enough comfy seating for all 7 of us. The bedrooms are all spacious. We took advantage of the outdoor grill and patio as well as the large dining table that could easily sit 10. The house is spacious and you will immediately feel right at home. The house has the feel of old cape cod w/all the modern amenities. Renate was a doll to work with and very responsive to inquiries! The Sand Trap is just a short walk to Pleasant Street beach or a short drive to Red River Beach. We did lots of sight seeing, including, shopping in Chatham, the Chatham farmers Market (Tues. afternoon), the Cape Cod Rail Trail (we brought our own bikes), Chatham light and the beach there, Morris Island Wild life Sanctuary, Brewster, P-town, the lifesaving station at Race point and more. If you are bored on the Cape--its your own fault. We barely scratched the surface of things to do. But best of all are the memories we now have of our stay at the Sand Trap. Can't wait to do it all again!

our second time staying at the Sand Trap. The house was perfect for our extended family vacation. The house is spacious, clean and very well taken care of. The grand kids love the closeness to the Pleasant Street beach and the fact that it was an easy short walk to get there. The other major beaches were just a short drive away. The house is equipped with everything g that you will need while on vacation and then some. Renate, the host is always available and responds quickly to any communication. She is extremely helpful, Since our last stay, the house got new ACs in the bedrooms. They sure came in handy on a muggy week on the Cape. The grand kids loved the outdoor shower after the beach. Another memory making week spent at he Sand Trap. Thank You Renate!!!!

We love coming to the Sandtrap every year - our grandchildren talk about it all year and have a countdown as it gets closer to coming. As others have pointed out, if you need something, for sure you'll find it here. For those that love coffee there is a variety of coffee makers to choose from and items that we don't even have in our own home! One of our favorites is the rice cooker. Having a crockpot available is fantastic while on vacation and cooking for a group.
Every year some kind of improvement is made - this year in the master bedroom were new windows which was fantastic as the weather proved to be such many days we had all windows open.
We can't imagine staying anywhere else when we come to the Cape - this really is like home.

Okay folks, who sez 13 is not a lucky number - not us! This is our 13th year at the Sand Trap and we continued the tradition of having a great time. The home easily handles two families with plenty of space for privacy. It is close to everything and a short walk to the beach. Very friendly walkable, bikeable neighborhood where people say "hi". To say the home is fully equipped could be an understatement - love to cook and you need a left handed thing-a-ma-jig, there is probably one there! The owner (who is terrific, I might add) continues to make improvements to the property. This year there were two big ones; a new air conditioning(/heat pump ) system so no more window units and new jalousie windows on the porch - nice on those summer nights. Looking forward to writing another great review next year.

Great location. Very private and just a short walk to the beach. House is very nice. Plenty of room and a nice private yard for the kids to run around, playing the outdoor games (also provided). The home truly had everything we could need for a great week on the cape!

Absolutely perfect home! There was so much room that 4 adults and two children had more than enough room. Feeling crowded was never an issue. Everything was well stocked, if we had forgotten anything I'm pretty sure we could have found it in the house. The walk to the beach was quick. It is uphill on the way back but there was plenty of parking by the beach if anyone ever needed a ride. It is a quiet area which is always a plus. I'm pretty sure I saw more joggers than cars on the connecting road.

My husband can normally find something to complain about with anything but even he had no complaints!

We loved staying at the Sandtrap! Walking distance from the beach and a wagon was provided at the property to carry the beach chairs, boogie boards and beach umbrella, all also provided. Some even brand new and never used.

The house itself was very comfortable for our two families. Very spacious inside and a huge private yard for the kids to run around, playing the outdoor games (also provided). The home truly had everything we could need for a great week on the cape! We will definitely be back!

We returned for our third year loving our "home away from home" more and more each time we return. This year there were new windows in the sun porch which made that space so comfortable and allowed for more breezes to come into the home. We can't say enough about the space that is afforded to the three family units that stay here. There are also new HVAC split units, a welcome addition as it allowed the rooms to have more usable space.

This year the expansive yard was used to play a lot of outdoor games. We continued our daily walks around the area and did scavenger hunts with the little ones who enjoyed all the discoveries of the Cape right under their noses.

This rental is a gem for anyone lucky enough to find an open week.

This is the 12th review we've written about this wonderful place and frankly we've run out of superlatives. The Sand Trap is even better than advertised and the owner is in a word FANTASTIC! No detail is missed or overlooked and the location benefit is close to everything. Easy walk to the beach and don't miss the sunset - we've just had another wonderful time and we plan to keep returning.

Stayed 2 weeks in early August, 4 adults and 2 preteens. Great house with large patio (great for outdoor dining), great outdoor shower and large yard for the kids. We could walk to the beach or drive to nearby beaches within 10 minutes. The house is great with separate areas if you want to just sit and read by yourself. Looking forward to next year.

This was our second year at the sand trap and we had a great week. The house was perfect for us and our guests. The house is very well stocked with everything you need to cook and entertain. We had a 1 night visit from our grandson and it was so convenient to have 2 portacribs , booster seat, and stroller. The back yard is perfect with 2 Weber grills, and 2 tables . There is a large yard to play games and a warm outdoor shower which is wonderful coming back from the beach. It is wonderful to be walking distance to the beach.
We do wish we could open the windows in the sunroom. It gets stuffy and warm and we find that we never use this room and it would be nice to be able to sit comfortably out there.
Overall the Sandtrap is a great place to stay.

We returned to the Sand Trap for our second year. (Please see my review from last year for more details of that stay.) Everything we loved about it the first time was enhanced the second time since we knew what to expect. It is unusual for us not to have to bring much more than our clothes to stay in a rental, but that is all you need and toilet paper! We do bring our own sheets (I bought XL sheets on Amazon to accommodate the XL twin beds at a very reasonable price) so we do not have to wash as we're heading out the door. That works for us.

Our little ones continued to enjoy the yard and the sun porch was their domain most of the week. The kitchen is large enough that one night each family group (3) was cooking dinner - the idea was to do it in shifts, but you know, things happen - we all ended up in the space at one time and while we did a crazy dance around each other, there really was enough room for each of us to have space to work.

The Sand Trap is better equipped than my own home, so you will truly enjoy staying here.
Thanks to the owners, for sharing your home with others, so we too can enjoy the Cape and Chatham in particular.

My wife and I are long time summer visitors to the Cape and the last 10+++ years(I lost count) have been to Renate's home, the Sand Trap. Now, I could go on and add to the list of all that we love about the place but.....but I would just be repeating what you have already been reading. Thought I'd take a different approach. In the game of golf, hitting into a Sand Trap is always a bad thing. The sand traps your ball and makes it very difficult to ….well......have a good round. This Sand Trap traps your heart and your only regret will be not spending more time there.

The home is fully equipped with everything you'll need for a great vacation and we can't say enough good things about Renate. She is in a word – TERRIFIC!

Stayed 2 weeks in early August, 4 adults and 2 preteens. Great house with lots of room outside for seemingly endless wiffle ball games. Beaches close, can walk or drive with ample parking. Looking forward to next year.

This rental was great for a family. We loved the master king bed and private bath on the first floor which which was away from the living area. Another king bed on the 2nd floor was great for another couple who also used the pack and play for their 1 year old. Great to have 2 1/2 baths. The bunk and single bed was a great room for kids. Sprawling living area which never felt crowded, even with guests.

Wonderful to walk a short distance to the beach and not have to deal with traffic and parking every day. Lots of beach chairs and kids toys. Great patio area with 2 Weber grills and 2 outside tables which accommodate 10 diners. Lovely outside shower.

Great home with plenty of room to spread out- both indoors and out. My 8 year rode her bike all around the house. My 6 yo loved the bees and butterflies in the pollinator garden.

We enjoyed being able to walk to the small beach at the end of the street. My sister in law and mother in law joined as well. We never felt cramped as the bedrooms are on 2 different levels (2 on first floor and 2 on 2nd floor). The beds were very comfortable for all and all the rooms had AC units.

We also drove to a few of the very close local beaches. Very close to Harwich center and Chatham. Would stay again in a heartbeat when traveling with a group. Thanks for a wonderful family vacation!

For the second year we had an incredible vacation at the Sand Trap. The property has everything you need to feel at home. Totally stocked kitchen, all the supplies you need for the beach and and very comfortable beds.

A walk to the beach. Has AC for those hot days, two grills, big patio, a fantastic outdoor space and outdoor shower. The kids love to play hide and seek and wiffle ball in the yard. We will be back again next year!

Renate is the best host, great communication and very quick to respond.

A great place to stay with our daughter's family. The granddaughters loved walking to the beach to build sandcastles and find shells. The bunk beds were a great hit. A very roomy house for the 6 of us with excellent beach chairs and toys for the kids. Nice patio with two Weber gas grills and even a gas lobster pot.

We have been longtime Cape Cod renters - over 35 years - and we all agree this is our favorite rental house, ever. The space for three families - grandparents, and two adult children's families was absolutely perfect. The yard was a big plus as the little ones loved playing outside after eating on the patio, which had plenty of space and there is an adorable kids picnic table that was a hit.

The biggest plus was that the house comes with - chairs, umbrellas, strollers and toys for the beach - what a blessing. Inside there are plenty of board games to choose from for those interested. None of that needs to be packed and we were so fortunate with perfect weather to eat outside and hit the beach almost every single day. We only ate breakfast inside at the huge table, that would have been great to have more meals at if the weather wasn't cooperating. There is plenty of room for adults to work in the kitchen at the same time - packing lunches to go on a picnic to our favorite spots (Wychmere Harbor, Doane Rock to name a couple.)

The location, within an easy walk to the Pleasant St. beach is ideal. We took walks around the area and discovered the bird estuary close by. By walking a bit further you can get to Forrest Beach if you want too. It is easy to get to everything you would want to do on the Cape - Chatham for strolling down Main Street, the National Seashore in Eastham or heading to the bayside for great drives and beaches if so inclined.

We wished we'd discovered this gem years ago! Thanks, Renate for sharing this with so many families allowing us to make great memories.

It was such a pleasure staying at this home. The house is perfectly situated for privacy and a short walk to the beach. It's a very inviting space for families with plenty of room both indoors and outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

Over 10 years ago my husband and I began vacationing at "Sand Trap", along with my son and his family. We have had the most amazing times at this wonderful home but this year was special – it proved to be the perfect retreat during the time of the pandemic.

We had such fun cooking many meals in the wonderfully equipped kitchen, hung out on the nearby beaches and spent the evenings playing board games (there's a closet filled with games and puzzles) and dining on the lovely,spacious patio.

This home is fully equipped, you don't need to bring much!

When it was time to leave we truly felt a sense of calm and renewal. We are already planning on 2021's vacation at "Sand Trap"!

Renate is wonderful, she's so attentive and accommodating. She makes suggestions for activities, restaurants, etc. It's been a privilege to spend our summer vacations at this home and hear to from Renate for over 10 years.

We recently spent two weeks at The Sand Trap in South Chatham. The cottage worked out great for our two families. There were 4 adults and two very active children. We all had a great time. There was plenty of room for both adults and kids alike.It was a short walk to two beaches and we enjoyed both. It is also near the bike trail and we enjoyed that activity also. We are looking forward to next year. We give it an A-plus,

We just finished spending a week at the Sand Trap. The house is everything that is promised. Although this was our first time staying at the Sand Trap, it felt like our family had been vacationing there for years. The house has everything you need. We had our grandchildren with us (2 1/2 year old, 7 month old girls, and two boy 9 and 7) and we had fun walking down to Pleasant Street Beach And enjoying a day of sun and swimming. Renate has taken care of all the details - everything you need is there. You will enjoy cooking on the two Weber grills or using the lobster pot and gas cooker to steam your lobsters from Mac's Seafood!!!

My family and I stayed at the Sand Trap for a week in July. The house was absolutely perfect for our party of 8! The location was incredible. The house is located on a very private road with a private beach just a short walk away. The house is also centrally located in South Chatham and so close to so many other amazing beaches, bay beaches, ice cream shops, souvenir shops and of course, the spectacular downtown Chatham. It is now September and we still cannot stop talking about what a WONDERFUL vacation we had in Cape Cod this summer. The house has plenty of space and tons of amenities. You really don't need to pack much! Renate has thought of almost everything! She was so incredibly kind and such a pleasure to communicate with. We cannot wait to go back next year! It's all my children talk about!

We've just returned from the most incredible family beach vacation at the Sand Trap. Renate's correspondence from beginning to end helped to make our experience exceptional. The property was even better than pictured, spacious inside and out, a perfect set up for our young family and the grandparents. Lots of games and kid toys and supplies for the beach all of which were very helpful. Being a few minute walk from the beach was great and we went to a few of the nearby beaches that were a five minute drive. The house has wonderful amenities and very comfortable beds. Loved the outdoor shower and great seating outside. We will be back next year!

In 2009 our family first rented this lovely home, and since then we have had the most memorable family vacations. We vacation with my son and his family and this house provides the perfect setup for multi-families. It's warm and cozy, yet very spacious with a great kitchen/dining area. Outside there is a wonderful outdoor shower and a patio perfectly suited for outdoor dining and family fun. Every year we come back and there have been new improvements to the house. This home will leave you wanting for nothing, everything you could possibly need for an ideal Cape vacation is provided.

The beaches at the Cape are beautiful and the sunsets are spectacular. There's plenty to do and see for all ages in the surrounding towns. Renate, the homeowner, is very kind, caring and accommodating. We feel sad when our time at the Cape has ended, but God willing, will soon begin to think of next year's vacation at "Sand Trap".

We really enjoyed staying at The Sand Trap. It was very spacious and comfortable, both inside and outside. We had nine family members stay in the house and loved how we could all spread out and have our own space, and still be together. The kitchen is perfect for a large group, and the backyard is shady and comfortable. We loved enjoying the beauty and tranquility of Chatham while being just a short walk from the ocean.

We are a family of nine who vacation here yearly. Our stay is as comfortable as being in our own home. You will never find there is something you need because it is all there. This home has all amenities and it's spacious and clean. A very short walk to beach. Private backyard also spacious. Family dinners inside or out. Love the propane Lobster Pot! I have to say the best part of our stay is Renate and her family they make it a point to be sure our stay is the best it can be. The Sand Trap will always be the home away from home for us. No need to look any further If I could give it 100 stars I would. You will not be disappointed.

We started vacationing at this lovely beach house in the summer of 2009 and have come back nearly every year since then. My husband and I vacation with our son and his family and I can truly say that every year is better than the last one (if that's possible).

"Sand Trap" is perfect for multiple families. The layout affords privacy but at the same time has many areas for family time. Cooking meals in the spacious, well equipped kitchen or on the beautiful outside patio is always something we look forward to. The home is located close to the beach in a lovely treed neighborhood that's perfect for early morning walks or evening strolls to the beach.

The towns of Chatham and Harwichport are nearby and offer much to do as well as great dining options. A great casual place to dine is right down the road from the house. It's called "The Talkative Pig" and they offer meals prepared with fresh local food at a very reasonable price.

The homeowners are wonderful and see to every possible need. They continually put improvements into their home and that makes coming back to "Sand Trap" something we really look forward to - year after year!

After missing our annual week in 2017 at the Sand Trap, we have to say 2018's week was worth the wait! It was our best vacation ever! The comfort and sense of family when you stay here is exceptional. There is every amenity you need and nothing is lacking. The home is immaculate and set in a perfect location. Privacy, beautiful neighborhood, close to everything and the beach...what more can you ask for? Renate and her family go over and beyond to ensure your stay is the best it can be and their concern is genuine.

Just spent a wonderful week in Chatham at the Sand Trap. We have been going to Chatham for a very long time and have rented several different houses over the years. This is one of the BEST! Lots of room for two families. The house is exactly as advertised, comfortable beds, very clean, and fully stocked with everything needed for a stay at the beach. The owner is very responsive if some need should occur, but we arrived to a ship shape house and only needed to stock some food, put on our bathing suits and enjoy the beach. On a scale of 1-10, we give the Sand Trap a 10!

We had a lovely week in Chatham recently and The Sand Trap worked beautifully for our blended, multi generational family group. The house is well equipped with everything one could want - and walking distance to a beach. Also close to the bike trail. Would definitely recommend this house to others.

Our family recently returned from our 7th incredible vacation at "Sand Trap." My husband and I vacation with my son and his family and we fell in love with this house many years ago. We feel it is the "perfect Cape House." Every year there are updates and improvements to the home. It is also an incredibly well equipped beach house. The floor plan is ideal for a multi-family group, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

The towns of Chatham and Harwich have many lovely restaurants as well as activities for families. You can walk to two of the area's great restaurants - Pisces for fine adult dining and The Talkative Pig for more casual family dining.

Ridgevale Beach is wonderful for children as it has a tidal pool and is terrific for exploring. Hardings Beach is also one of the many other beautiful nearby beaches.

We had never stayed in Chatham before, and this was a great location. The house was perfect for us, it has everything you could need - beach chairs, fully stocked kitchen, good books, games and movies, the beds were very comfortable, it was very clean, and in a great location. The layout allowed for some of us to read and be mellow, nap etc., while the others played raucous games in the dining room. Our group of 9 enjoyed the nearby end of the road beach, biked downtown for morning yoga on Lighthouse Beach, went on a seal watch, and shopped in the village. The nearby Talkative Pig had great pizza too. LOVED IT.

I can't say enough about this house for an extended family vacation. We brought my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in -law, his wife and two small children, plus our own teenage daughter and her friend, and there was plenty of room! We never felt crowded. The little ones would go to bed in the master bedroom where the crib was, and a pack and play. The adults would stay up late and play games in the dining room, which got quite loud at times and because of the great layout, the babies never were disturbed.

The house was well equipped with everything needed for a week's stay. We enjoyed the beach at the end of the road as well as others in town. Chatham has so much to offer, and we had plenty to do all week. The Chatham Anglers playoff game was a favorite for everyone!

So, I highly recommend this house! It was clean, casual, homey and updated. A relaxing week was enjoyed by all!

Sandtrap was the perfect home for 2 grandparents and 2 young families. One family had the 2nd floor and bath to themselves. The other family had the master with the crib for the baby. And the grandparents had the first floor bedroom. Each couple had their own bath. The house has plenty of room for rainy days, and is well equipped with games. The sunporch became the play area for the kids. They loved having their own special place. The kitchen has everything you need and a large table so everyone can eat together. Lovely, quiet patio and 2 grills making eating dinner at home a joy! But you are also close to both Chatham and Harwich if you want to go out. The outdoor shower is wonderful! I never showered in the house!. The living area AC units are wonderful for those really hot and humid days.

The house is a short walk to Pleasant Beach. Since we flew in from CA, the beach toys, chairs, & umbrellas at the house were very helpful! The owner is very attentive and answered all our questions in a timely manner. It was a great house !

Our 6th vacation at this lovely home was perfect and we hope to be back for a 7th. We vacation with my son and his family and the floor plan accommodates 2 families very nicely. The house is well equipped for inside time as well as outside time. There is a lovely private patio with gas grills, there are also beach chairs and various other items for the kids to take to the beach. Taking a short stroll to Pleasant Beach to watch the sunset is one of life's simple pleasures.

The towns of Chatham and Harwich are both nearby and there are many activities to do with family and the kids. They offer many wonderful galleries as well as several dining options, ice cream and candy shops!

We spent a beautiful week at The Sand Trap with two grandparents, four parents, an uncle, and two toddlers. The house was spacious and comfortable for all of us, with a crib, pack and play and booster seats. A very short walk to a calm beach was perfect for young children, and a slightly longer walk to a larger beach was easily done with strollers. The kitchen is very well equipped, and there are lots of DVDs and board games for indoor fun. The house is close to both Chatham and Harwich, for easy shopping, a wide variety of restaurants, and ice cream runs.

Three baths and four bedrooms made our multi-generation stay very comfortable for all. Two highly efficient, quiet air conditioners in the main living area kept us cool even on the hottest of days. There's a great outdoor shower and low faucet for cleaning sandy feet, and the back patio and shady yard were a pretty, relaxing spot for post-beach moments. Owner Renate is very helpful and pleasant, and we hope she'll have us back next year!

Our family's recent stay at the Sandtrap was a great vacation! The house was extremely well appointed, spacious and comfortable with lots of room for everyone in the family to enjoy. The amenities were exactly as described, including a well supplied kitchen, beach chairs, great patio for cookouts and yard games and the outdoor shower was a hit! The proximity to the beach was also one of the best features, as well as the town centers of Chatham and Harwich. The homeowners were a pleasure to work with and very responsive to all our questions. All in all, a wonderful experience and we hope to be back!

My family and I were very pleased with our recent stay at the Sand Trap in Chatham. The home is spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed. The patio was lovely for coffee in the morning and full dinners in the evening using the 2 gas grills, while the kitchen had everything we could have asked for right down to a grinder for coffee beans. We visited during a very humid week so we were happy to have air conditioning throughout the house. The home is an easy walk to both Pleasant and Forest beaches and a quick bike ride to Red River Beach in Harwich. The owners obviously take pride in their home and were a pleasure to work with. We would be happy to rent the Sand Trap again in the future.

We recently completed our week's stay at the Sand Trap home in Chatham, MA. I found the property to be very comfortable.The floor plan is open and spacious. The Kitchen was well equipped for anything we needed. The back yard patio was great for barbecues and any other entertainment with Family & Friends. The property Owner (Renate) was accommodating and easy to work with. The location in South Chatham is very convenient for anyone looking to enjoy what Cape Cod has to offer i.e.. Beaches, Boating, Fishing, Restaurants, Entertainment and many activities for kids in close proximity.

I would recommend this location to anyone. It was an enjoyable week.

We just returned from our 5th vacation stay at this wonderful home. Our family has vacationed at the Cape for over 30 years and since discovering "Sand Trap" we feel that we have found the perfect vacation sanctuary. This lovely home is tucked among the trees and very private, yet it is only a short walk or drive to Chatham's beaches. The towns of Chatham and Harwichport offer many amenities and a great selection of restaurants. The house is fully equipped and is lovely inside and outside. We just love this house and look forward to returning again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in this Cape home. The home was spacious with plenty of room for our extended family and children. The open layout in and outside allowed for enjoyable family time.

The house is a short walk to the beach and close to additional Harwich & Chatham beaches. The location is convenient with grocery store and local markets close by.

We were most impressed with the family friendly amenities. The homeowners left high chairs, a pack and play, umbrella strollers in addition to a book share library, large DVD collection and board games for the renters. The home was left as if the homeowner could arrive at any time and pack very little to stay for a prolonged period of time. We would recommend this home to any family!

Our family has vacationed on the Cape for over 30 years. We have to say the "Sand Trap" has truly been our most favorite home. It leaves nothing to be desired as the home has it all and with the addition of Wi-Fi this summer...need I say more?! We love the location, the beaches, the privacy and the home itself. The owners make your stay a most enjoyable one and go the extra mile to be sure you are comfortable. The Sand Trap will always be where we vacation year after year to come.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely Cape cottage. We vacation every year together with family (4 adults and 4 children) and the house was plenty spacious for all of us. Anything that we needed we were able to find in this house. There is a nice, well-appointed kitchen, a dining area big enough for all of us to dine together, as well as patio and grill outside. The yard was large enough for the kids to run around and play games.

We enjoyed being so close to the beach also. Many mornings were spent with the kids exploring the beach while Dad drank his coffee. We used the back porch for storing beach bags in between trips which helped keep sand out of the house, and we used the outdoor shower often. We also liked the proximity to many of our favorite haunts in Chatham, Harwichport, Dennis and Orleans. Any issues that arose were attended to quickly by the owners as well. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!

We searched for a long while before choosing this house for our week on the Cape. We liked the way the house looked and that the reviews were all positive. We have stayed at this rental several times now, and we are always very happy and comfortable. The house is spacious, comfortable, clean, and enjoyable to just relax in. It has everything you need and feels very private. We enjoyed barbecuing and eating on the patio. My husband adores the outdoor shower. We also enjoy walking down to Pleasant Beach to look for shells with our children. The house's location is perfect for us as we love everything Chatham has to offer. We look forward to many more stays in the future here (my children are always asking when we are going back to the Cape house!). Thank you!

My husband and I stayed at this vacation home two years ago in late October for our honeymoon and returned again this year in late September to celebrate our Anniversary. Chatham is beautiful in the Autumn season, still with warmer weather without any of the fighting traffic or crowds. This house is located in walking distance to the beach/water and minutes from downtown Chatham with lots happening in the fall. All the restaurants are open serving up delicious fall menus. There are events and festivals still happening in and around the surrounding area making for lots of entertainment.

This house is perfect for anyone, a couple or a group/multi-family, for your next getaway as the layout is very open and accommodating for entertaining and group fun, spacious kitchen with breakfast bar and cape-style patio for those cocktails and steamed seafood basket nights. We highly recommend this vacation home as we were more than happy to return for another relaxing and classic Cape Cod get-away, and plan to continue to rent in the future.

Our 4th vacation at "Sand Trap" and they just keep getting better! Bernie & Renate are wonderful homeowners. Each time we've returned they have made an improvement that contributes to their guests' comfort. This time there was a new AC cooling system. We only used it for a few days as the weather was spectacular and the Cape breezes were lovely. We vacation with my son and his family and the layout of this home is perfect for us. The main level is very large and open with a great fully equipped kitchen and a large living room for family time. The master bedroom with its own bathroom is tucked away in a separate "wing". The upstairs has 2 bedrooms and a full bath and gives our son's family their own space. All this plus there's a great porch and a beautiful patio!

The beaches of Chatham are beautiful. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets! The town of Chatham offers many dining options as well as fun things to do with families. They recently renovated the movie theater in town and it's beautiful.

We have rented vacation homes for 30 years and have never been as impressed as we are with this home - my family calls it "The Perfect Cape House".

We absolutely loved your Cape house. It's much more spacious than we imagined. You really have a well stocked kitchen and laundry closet. My daughter and I love to cook and your kitchen is great to work in. The space in the master bedroom with the crib was fabulous. The spacious yard and porch were the favorites for my grandkids. The outdoor shower was wonderful for all, and the large patio for a BBQ. The house has a great cooling system in the main area and A/C in bedrooms. You have lots of room for a large family, and we never felt like we were in each other's way. Chatham is our favorite place to stay and we loved the beaches - especially having one right down the street.

We had a great time on our two week stay. As all of the reviews already say, the house is spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The location is great for walking to the beach and easy enough to get out to Chatham, Harwich, etc., for your groceries, restaurants, ball games, etc. The addition of wall-mounted ACs is a nice touch on the rare occasions temps climb above the low 80s, but we mostly turned them off and kept the windows open during our stay.

This was our first time staying at The Sand Trap and we were thrilled with all of the wonderful amenities, especially the close proximity to the beach! The house is very spacious and comfortable, and it is well equipped with everything you might need or want for a vacation at the Cape. It was also a surprisingly quiet location, tucked away just off the main road that leads down to the beach...perfect for sleeping and relaxing. The Sand Trap was a great find on weneedavacation.com! This is our third year vacationing at the Sand Trap, and we are never disappointed. We had 3 other families rent homes the same week, but this was the ONLY home we all gathered at for dinners, movies, BBQ's and beach days. All of our guests were in agreement that is the perfect vacation home, they only wished they had rented it. Great location, plenty of room, everything you would need including AC. Also our first year here with an 8 month old guest, the crib, beach umbrella, stroller all such a convenience. Renate and Bernie make their home feel like your home, so comfortable and welcoming. Only complaint, the week went by too quickly. Can't wait to return next summer!!

July 2014, we had an excellent week at the Sand Trap. An extended network of friends and family rented several homes in the immediate area, and the Sand Trap proved to be everyones' favorite (we had an inside edge: the house was recommended to us by a repeat renter.) There is LOTS of space, with everything you would want. Kitchen is very well equipped, there is a large connected dining area, nice patio with 2 BBQs, washer/dryer in a convenient location, DVD player with a quality TV and a library of DVDs. Kids had an easy walk to the beach, and enjoyed the boogie boards available. One nice feature is that the bedrooms are separated from the common areas, so that one can get quiet time while others enjoy the kitchen/dining/living areas. Highly Recommended.

Our family spent a wonderful week at the Sand Trap. The September weather was perfect with warm, sunny days & cool evenings. Access to beaches, restaurants, gift shops, etc. was so much easier minus the summer crowds. The house easily accommodated all of us from grandparents to grandchildren. The spacious, well equipped kitchen made meal preparation quite convenient. The short walk to the beach was greatly appreciated, especially by the little ones.

This was our 2nd year staying at the Sand Trap, and it's just perfect. Very spacious house, so you never feel too crowded, on a quiet cul-de-sac with zero traffic, extremely well-stocked kitchen, enormous dining room, nice patio area for alfresco dining (no problem with mosquitoes), charming little beach within easy walking distance, larger beaches not more than 10 minutes away. What more could you ask for?

Just returned from my vacation at the Sand Trap. It is spacious; plenty of room for all. I have rented in the Cape for over 40 years and have never found a kitchen so well equipped as the Sand Trap. The patio was wonderful for "cocktail hour" and to sit after supper with the group. Plenty of corners for people to go and sit by themselves and read and relax. My grandson brought his portable piano and set up on the screened porch; what fun. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this place for large families and a few couples to go for a week of fun, food and family time.

We were so excited to return to this beautiful home. Our week spent at the Sand Trap this summer was one of a 7 day heat wave, where most people suffered from the heat, and we were very comfortable. With the beach within walking distance to go for a cool swim, to eat out on the patio which had a cooling breeze, and then sleep in air conditioned comfort, we had the most amazing week. Quality family time is spent here, whether making puzzles, playing games, going for a walk through the neighborhood, or just sitting together for a family meal, makes this home so special to us. Our family stayed at the Sand Trap in late June, and we enjoyed our stay so much. The house is comfortable, spacious, and clean. We loved being able to cook our family meals in the large and well equipped kitchen. We also loved the comfortable living room, large master bedroom, and the great outdoor space. The house is also in a perfect location, being just a short drive away from the center of town and absolutely beautiful Chatham beaches. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. Our stay was everything we were hoping for, and we are very much looking forward to returning!

Our family just had their 3rd vacation at this lovely home. We've vacationed at the Cape for nearly 30 years and this home is our absolute favorite. Renate and Bernie's home is so warm & inviting and has every amenity one could desire. We especially loved having breakfast and cocktails on the beautiful private patio. The weather was spectacular and we spent many hours at Ridgevale Beach where our 3 year old grandson played and explored for hours in the Tidal Pools. Pleasant St. Beach is a 5 minute walk and is a great place to relax in the evening and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Downtown Chatham is only a few miles away and has many great shops and restaurants, however the best thing in town is the Band Concert on Friday evenings in the summer. It's such great fun and not to be missed.

The owners are the most gracious people and truly care about the families who are renting their lovely "Sand Trap." We so look forward to returning here for another vacation!

Everyone in the family had a wonderful time including my 91-year-old mother. All rooms are very spacious, so one never feels cramped. Well stocked kitchen, with large eating area adjoining. Lovely patios with no mosquitoes. Owners who are very helpful and generous. Walk to charming beach. Secluded location. What more could one ask for? I think the vote is unanimous: we'll be back next year.

The Sand Trap is a fantastic property with every amenity needed for a great vacation experience. The home is spacious and in very good condition. The main level is totally open and is a fantastic entertaining space. The rear yard and patio offer peace and quite, but has plenty of room for a large family barbeque. The beach is a 5 minute walk!!
We will definately return in the future.

We had just a wonderful time in Chatham. Your house was perfect for the 9 of us with plenty of room so we didn't feel on top of each other for the week. All the amenities of "home" were a nice surprise and made for a very comfortable stay. Even the discount card to Stop and Shop! The location was great and very quiet but not too far away from anything we wanted/needed. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home--we would definitely consider returning again in the future!

My wife, kids and grandkids loved our week at Sand Trap at the end of August 2011. The house was homey and warm and very "Cape Codish." The layout was good for two families with a very quiet, private master suite on first floor with room for kids/grand kids on second level.

A bonus for our grandsons was the large yard (safe private cul de sac) with room for bikes and ball. The only minor critcism is that the beach within walking distance is not very inviting for swimming. That said Chatham has numerous nearby beaches for every taste and activity. And the location of Sand Trap at mid Cape is convenient to virtually all the Cape's attractions.

In sum, we would heartily recommend Sand Trap and would crtainly stay again.

Hello, My husband, our boys, my sister-in-law and her family had the most amazing time. We have come to the cape for 20 years now. We have always love Chatham and call it our 2nd home. This was our first time at the "sand trap". I have to tell you the house is just what we needed and wanted. We all had our own spot to read a book or have some quiet time. Then we had great games in the yard and enjoy the beach!!! We loved the short walk to beach. It was great to have lunch at "our home", then head back to the beach. The sunsets were special. We loved sharing our time with each other and were sad to leave. We will be back at our home away from home again next summer. This house is were family memories are made. Two families together visited the Sand Trap this summer. It was exactly what the website said it would be. Highlights? Outdoor shower, excellent space throughout, many rooms to relax in, spacious dining area connected to the kitchen, washer and dryer, well maintained outdoors, and everything you need besides towels, food, toiletries and linens. There is a tiny "beach" at the end of the main road, we preferred to to go the bigger beaches with lifeguards. Must go whale watching and deep sea fishing! Not sure bringing bikes is worth it. Roads are very busy! Thanks Renate for a memorable vacation!

We had a great stay in Cape Cod. The house was wonderful and we had everything we needed. The weather was just superb and the beach could not have been better. We often went to Red River Beach too. We took the car and dropped off everything and then I went back to the house and left the car. I would then bicyle back to the beach. All of this just under 10 minutes, no parking fee and a good workout. Thanks again for everything.

Our family has been vacationing at the Cape for many years now but this was our fist time staying in Chatham at the "Sand Trap". Our family has grown to include 3 grandchildren ages 1-3 1/2 to vacation with us and the "Sand Trap" was perfect for us all! The house was spacious, very clean and had everything you could possibly need to have a wonderful family vacation.

This was our 2nd vacation at "Sand Trap" and again we had the most wonderful time. Our son and his family were with us, the home accomodates 2 families beautifully. We vacationed here last summer for 2 weeks and could not wait to return to his lovely, warm home, we stayed for 3 weeks this time and enjoyed every moment. We particularly enjoyed the new Flagstone patio and spent many hours there enjoying meals and relaxing. The Pogge's are such warm, gracious homeowners - we certainly plan on returning to "Sand Trap" in the future. "

We very much enjoyed our 3 week stay at the Sand Trap. We paid a visit to the whales who produced a great show and watched the seals. We could go on and on listing all the things we enjoyed here like the wonderful beaches, the grand ocean, the tremendous heat etc etc, and above all, we felt very homey and happy in Renate and Bernhard house and garden. Over the past 25 years, our family has spent many summers vacationing in Chatham. We have stayed in many wonderful summer rentals, but the Pogge's home far exceeds the others. This home is lovingly maintained and is so warm and welcoming; it offers plenty of space for multi-family vacations & yet offers privacy at the same time.

Our family loves to cook and we fell in love with the kitchen & all its amenities. One of our favorite things to do was to have morning coffee in the enclosed porch. In the evening it was great for cocktails and games. Another great feature of this home is that you can walk to Pleasant Beach. It's quiet during the day and it offers the most lovely sunsets in the evening - and there are NO beach fees! The Pogge's were wonderful homeowners & made certain everything met our expectations - we will certainly return to "Sand Trap."

You are just a small walk from the beach, can ride your bike to the bike trail & min away from cafe, dining, quaint stores & so much more. We went whale watching & were only 20 min away for the adventure which was truly amazing. You have everything you need here as well as outdoor shower & grills, awesome rear porch & decorated nicely. Perfect description for a perfect getaway! Love the privacy of a cul-de-sac so the kids could play in the yard without concern. Close to the beach for an evening stroll and a day with the kids. Half the time it was empty - our own private beach without the beachfront prices! House is set up nicely for 2 families from the bedrooms to the LONG dining room table!
