Description

Brewster Hideaway

Nestled on a quiet side street, this beautiful Cape Cod home sits well up off the road on a private wooded lot. This is a residential property carefully maintained and artfully curated throughout the year with a cottage/coastal feel that is warm and inviting. A private backyard with various shade trees, outdoor shower, grill, and outside dining area add additional living space. Easy access from the driveway into the sunny kitchen makes settling in quick so you can get started on your vacation right away. The Brewster Hideaway provides walking access to nearby wooded conservation trails. Located in the heart of Brewster, we are conveniently located a short drive to seven Brewster Bay beaches and several clear freshwater ponds. If waves are your thing, it's a 20 minute drive to the stunning windswept views of Nauset Beach as well as restaurants, shops, and two major supermarkets. Like to golf? We are just a four-minute drive to Captain's, and twelve minutes to Cranberry Valley. This happy home will be the perfect spot for your quintessential Cape Cod experience!

Interior
The interior of the Brewster Hideaway is cozy and functional. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The bedroom to the left sleeps two in a double bed; the bedroom to the right sleeps two in a queen bed, and potentially another two in a day bed with a roll-out option underneath (perfect for children). There is an upstairs bathroom with a shower.

There is one bedroom on the first floor to the right at the end of the hall. It has a queen bed. All beds have brand new mattresses. The room to the left is a small ‘study’ that has a double pull-out couch. Both rooms are near the bathroom with a tub and shower.

The living room benefits from original wood floors and a comfortable circular couch/chair arrangement for socializing with friends and family. We recently installed heat pumps/mini splits throughout the entire house for heating and AC.

The kitchen is pleasant and stocked with the basic amenities for cooking and grilling. Dining is casual at the Brewster Hideaway. There is a table that sits four, but more often than not, people enjoy gathering around the living room table to eat and chat.

The ideal number of guests is 6-8.

Immediate Setting
This home sits on a quarter of an acre tucked away on a hill with trees and a fence allowing for privacy from the neighbors. There is a simple rear patio with outdoor seating and a Weber gas grill. We have a basic working outdoor shower. Wooded trails on town land are a few moment's walk away.

General Location
Our classic 1971 Cape Cod cottage is located close to the town’s famous tidal bay beaches, Nickerson State Park, the Museum of Natural History, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and Captain’s Golf Course. Shopping in Chatham and Orleans is only 15 minutes away, and Provincetown is under an hour. Located just a five-minute drive from U.S. Route 6 off Exit 85, the Brewster Hideaway is also convenient to local amenities such as Stop & Shop, CVS, Dunkin’, Mobile, liquor stores, and a dry cleaner.

We hope you treasure the memories you make here!

Hi, I grew up in Brewster and love the Cape. This property is my home during the academic school year when I am teaching at a local middle school. I chose to list for vacation rentals to help support my daughter - she will be a freshman at college next September. I speak Spanish as a second language and we welcome visitors from near and far!

What is special about this property?
The Brewster Hideaway is an original 1970s summer cottage that has been updated yet retains its original simple charm. It benefits from a reclusive feel as it is located on a hill surrounded by a natural yard with trees and morning birdsong. You will find a selection of books about Cape Cod history and a number of fun family boardgames in the cosy living room. This is the perfect spot for a multi-generational holiday.

What is special about your town?
Brewster is for everyone. From the wonderful Brewster Ladies' Library to the Museum of Natural History, to Nickerson State Park, to the Cobb House and much more, there is an abundant selection of natural, intellectual, and recreational pursuits in the area.

Particularly unique to Brewster, however, are the Brewster Tidal Flats!

The Brewster Tidal Flats are the largest flats in all of North America. If you're able to walk out far enough, you may even see the original wood landing where packet ships once ferried people and cargo to and from Boston. You should be able to see the flats twice a day, and they sometimes extend up to two miles out, making the beaches appear even larger. The sheer size of the flats is what makes this area so unique when compared to other places in the world. Sunsets over Cape Cod Bay at the Brewster beaches are exceptional!
