A nice break from the Clam Shacks

I don't usually associate Tuscan food with Cape Cod, but when you've had your fill of New England seafood dishes, try Buca's for something unique. The menu is creative and the service attentive. It is a mellow sophisticated atmosphere that makes you think you are closer to Boston than the beach.
The food deserves five stars, but I gave four overall due to the tiny parking lot. Take your teenager's compact car if you can and leave the SUV at home. there is simply no room in what used to be the sloping back yard of this one-time residence. Also, because reservations are hard to come by during the high season, this has become more of an off-season option for me.
Lastly, if you're passing by on Rt. 28 and you're hungry for lunch or a snack, watch for the colorful hot dog cart in the parking lot. They offer unique toppings to make this New England staple a cut above.
