There is no real sand beach area or even an area to sit. There is a roped off area for swimming, some swings and a pavilion available for public use. The lake is nice for swimming with little ones because the bottom of the lake is sandy and it is quite shallow. Also, a great spot for fishing as it is stocked with fish.

Fresh water kettle pond; the water is so clear and cool. The beach wasn't crowded at all. It was hard for me to choose between this one and Chapin Beach, though; I love the huge tide shifts, too, but that's a wading beach for me, not a swimming beach. You can actually swim at Scargo Lake.
