Pleasant Rd Beach, Cape Cod

We are new to Harwich this summer, we live near Pleasant Beach and there is no sand the beach is 80% shells almost impossible to walk on. A older gentleman told us that the residence are all wondering why all the shells? In the past the beach was a white sand beach but no longer. We walked down to the private beach and it was mostly sand , a few shells but not bad, The beach had not been raked out at all, so whats going on? We bought a home in this area because of the beaches and are so disappointed.

Closest, easy walk—barefoot even— two life guards, plenty of room in beach. Clean facilities.

we always get a parking permit ($75) for parking at all the beaches in Harwichport because pleasant street beach and Bank street beach are our favorites and we like to go between the two of them during our week on the cape.
we recommend getting a parking permit for the beaches at the visitor center in town

We love going to the fresh water ponds!

Ample parking and lovely view - clean water.

This beach was easy to get to, plenty of barking and nice sand.

This beach is literally a 3 minute walk which made it so easy to just pack up and go, it also has 2 lifeguard towers very nice beach bathrooms which have changing tables and running water. The ice cream truck was there every day and the kids and adults loved it! If you are traveling with kids or a big crowd you could also drive down and drop everything off and pick up very easily!
