Regular NRTA shuttle service is available.Known for its sunsets, this beach at the western end of the island is a great spot for big waves. There is limited parking, but busses and the bike path make it a very accessible beach for all.

Madaket was cozy and quiet. Great for getting Millie's takeout and enjoying the waves!

There is a beautiful and large log on this beach where we took family photos that turned out really nice!

We went to Madaket on a windy day with crazy waves! Watching the surfing was amazing. It was so fun we went back the next day, where the wind was less, and enjoyed a quiet day sitting and reading on the beach. The parking fills quickly on good days, but still worth the stop. If you are hungry, Millie's is a short walk away.

Love Smith Point and Great Point. Depends on which side of the island. And wind.

The neighborhood offers a relaxed, family-friendly vibe and was once home to Mr. Rogers. It's especially beautiful in the evenings when you can see the spectacular sunsets.

Hard to beat the Madaket sunsets -- there's often a fun crowd on the beach around sunset too... Grab a bite at Millie's before/after!
