Popular with 4WD owners—one needs special permits to drive on the beach. A Cape Cod Bay beach, backed by low sand dunes giving it a very private feel, this beach is perfect for ,swimming, sunbathing and exploring the tidal flats.

We already knew we loved Mayflower beach from our trip last year, but Chaplin was new to us this year. The way it transformed from tide pools to explore to the perfect depth water for littles to float and swim over the course of the morning was really perfect for us!

White sand, clear turquoise water - feels lile you’re in the Caribbean.

Beautiful beach that you can walk out about 200 yards at low tide. Amazing tidal flats you could put a chair on and feel like you are in the middle of the ocean. Amazing sunsets.

At low tide, you can walk out for miles into the ocean and the sunset is one of the most amazing on the cape.

We discovered the amazing sunsets at Chapins Beach on our first trip here. We loved it so much that we got married on this beach this year. It was an amazing and picture-perfect “pop up” wedding ceremony that delighted our friends and strangers alike!

Low tide provides spacious private beach experience for 6 hours everyday. My second choice is Skatet Beach in Orleans.

It's a close walk to the dunes of Grey's Beach...so much fun in the whirlpools! But watch out! The tide comes in fast, and the currents are wicked!

Great beach to enjoy watching wind surfers braving the waves. We enjoyed walking for long distance at low tide in the early mornings!

My favorite beaches are Chapin's and Sea Street (Dennis bayside) and both are an easy drive. Both beaches are awesome for the sand and swimming at either low or high tide.

white sands and GREAT for the kids at low tide when the tide pools are around. The kids loved catching little fish, hermit crabs, etc. Great for families! Parking is limited so go early (pre 10am)

Chapin Beach had tide pools full of treasures for the kids to explore during low tide and shallow surf at low or high tide that's perfect for swimming.

A smaller less congested beach ..excellent for children.

Kind of a quieter beach but when tide is out it can be a long walk to the water. great for kids as there is a large area to run around when tide is out.

We are from New York. This beach was worth the wait! My kids and I went in and explored and my husband waited in the car a half hour for an opening! Get there early if u want to get in! AMAZING! We have never seen anything like it! Beautiful! The dunes & a mile walk out...
