Where: Scatteree Rd., Chatham View Map
Water Type: Salt water
Type: Surf
Good for: boating, fishing, surfing, clamming, swimming
Access to this pristine beach is either by boat from Pleasant Bay or by driving over sand (permit required) from Nauset Beach. One side of the beach provides ocean waves while the other side provides calm waters for swimming. The tides and currents can be quite strong so use caution when swimming in these waters.

Beautiful sandy beach with access to both bay and ocean beaches. It is only accessible by boat, so it's less crowded than other public beaches in Chatham (especially if you arrive in the morning). It's great for relaxing, entertaining toddlers, and fishing (my husband caught many striped bass from the beach!). Pick up some sandwiches at the Chatham Village Cafe & Bakery on your way out and spend the whole day on the beach :)
