Guide to Captiva Island vacation rentals

CAPTIVA ISLAND

Captiva Island is Sanibel Island’s little sister, approximately four miles long and ½ mile wide. Captiva is primarily the setting for lush, private residences, but it also features a gulf coastline of sugar sand beaches strewn with shells and temperate, blue green waters.

There are several restaurants and shops on this small, narrow bit of land as well as Turner’s Beach, a public beach access at Blind Pass. There is another public beach access at Captiva Beach at the tip of the island.

NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND

Four miles of secluded beaches are the draw for those who don’t live or vacation on North Captiva Island. It is accessible only by boat or private aircraft and automobiles are prohibited. Tool around on your golf cart and enjoy some Cuban chili along with freshly caught fish at quaint eateries. Almost half the island's natural beauty is preserved and protected and growth is kept in balance with the sensitivities of the environment.

Please see information for Sanibel Island for more information on what to do and see if you vacation at Captiva Island or North Captiva Island.

Round out your vacation with an easy day trip to the Sarasota area to the north or the Naples area to the south.
