Nearby Singer Island Beach offers restaurants, beachwear and souvenir shops and excellent beach volleyball courts. This is where visiting children and grandchildren will have fun. At the other end of the island from Palm Beach Shores you’ll find the John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. This 1,600 foot boardwalk spans Lake Worth Cove and affords expansive views of the surrounding area. See if you can spot herons, ospreys and vegetation such as mangroves as you walk across. Can’t be bothered walking? Not to worry, there is a free shuttle which will carry you over. When you get to the other side you can follow a trail that winds through subtropical trees. There’s also a beautiful private beach where turtles nest from May through to August. |
