The small rural community of Truro is known for its wild, natural beauty, dramatic sandy cliffs, and prehistoric kettle holes. Its beaches are unsurpassed. Truro is so narrow that from the top of a dune, it is possible to see the ocean on one side and the bay on the other.
Highland Light, Cape Cod’s first lighthouse, was moved back from the precariously eroding cliffs during the summer of 1996. It now sits 120 feet above the ocean, with its beam visible 30 miles at sea.
Quiet and unpretentious, Truro is a mecca for writers and artists. For 26 years, the Castle Hill Center for the Arts has been offering classes to both adults and children and sponsors lecture series, concerts, and artist receptions.
